Fortnite fans really want the upcoming Star Wars season to finally add Lightsaber Pickaxes for everyone to use, and there are already theories that it’s finally happening.

For a while now, it’s been rumoured that Chapter 6, season 3 of Fortnite was going to be themed around Star Wars once again, which made sense considering how many times Epic has collaborated with the far, far away galaxy. Those rumours were finally confirmed a few days ago when Epic teased the Galactic Battle season during Star Wars Celebration.

While the very brief teaser trailer did confirm a bunch of new characters that are coming in the season, such as Mace Windu, Palpatine, and Darth Jar Jar, it didn’t say too much about the gameplay side of things. That’s a shame, since there’s one major request that every Star Wars fan has been waiting for Fortnite to fulfil – Lightsaber Pickaxes.

And There Are Even Theories That It Might Happen

For those that don’t know or who are so annoyed that they’ve blocked it out, there’s not been a single Star Wars character in Fortnite who has come with a Lightsaber Pickaxe, as Epic has saved them as in-game weapons that appear during the crossover seasons. This is something that’s bugged players since the first Star Wars event, and things haven’t changed in the following years.

While Epic hasn’t confirmed whether we’re finally getting Lightsaber Pickaxes in the Galactic Battle season, it’s clear that the desire from fans is very much still there. Over on Twitter, reliable Fortnite insider HYPEX tweeted a “petition” to get Lightsaber Pickaxes in the game, which currently has over 29,000 likes as of the time of writing, with a bunch of fans sharing their support.

It doesn’t seem like it’s just hopium this time around, though, as there’s some evidence that it might actually happen. Twitter user KiriBuilds pointed out that Epic sent out a survey asking players if they minded collab Pickaxes being the same as collab weapons, which was the case for the TMNT crossover. That shows it’s clearly changed its tune a bit.

While that seems like some solid proof that Lightsaber Pickaxes are a possibility, there are also some fan theories about the long-awaited feature. Twitter user Loolo_WRLD suggested that Darth Jar Jar’s unique Lightsaber hilt was hinting at him getting his own Lightsaber Pickaxe, although some fans think it’s just a unique Lightsaber weapon with Force Lightning.

Even if that theory doesn’t hold as much water as Epic’s survey, the one thing that remains very clear is that Fortnite players really want Lightsaber Pickaxes in the game. It’s been a long time coming and we still don’t know for sure, but here’s hoping Galactic Battle finally makes it a reality.
