Summary
- Looking at achievement stats, we can see what everyone is getting up to in Oblivion Remastered.
- Across all platforms, fewer than five percent of players have beaten the main quest.
- Instead, players are exploring and completing side quests.
Alright, be honest, when was the last time you checked in on Martin in Oblivion Remastered? When was the last time you helped out the Blades? Hell, have you even saved Kvatch yet?
Avoiding the main quest is a staple of any Bethesda game, as more often than not, the best way to enjoy them is to wander off and find your own adventures. If this is how you’ve been playing Oblivion Remastered, you’re far from alone, because pretty much no one has beaten the main storyline so far.
One Of The Rarest Achievements In Oblivion Remastered Is Beating The Main Quest
Sorry, Uriel. Maybe we weren’t the person from your dreams after all
The achievement you get for beating the main quest is Champion of Cyrodiil. Over on Steam, only 4.1 percent of players have unlocked it. Among those who are playing it through Xbox, on either console or PC, the figure is even lower at 2.78 percent. As for PlayStation, Reddit user ObvsThrowaway5120 noticed that it was only 2.77 percent earlier today, making it almost equal to Xbox’s stats.
If you’re holding off on the main tasks because you don’t want to miss any side quests, fret not, because you can keep playing the game once you’ve beaten the story.
It’s easy to see why so few players have beaten the main storyline so far. Oblivion Remastered is full of some truly iconic side quests, with many of them part of their own storylines through the various guilds. The Thieves Guild is particularly beloved amongst players, so it’s more likely that players are running around robbing the citizens of Cyrodiil than helping them.
With that said, you’ll probably want to at least do the Kvatch portion of the main quest before you start exploring. Infamously, the level scaling means that you might have a bunch of very powerful enemies thrown at you if you take your time. Don’t leave Martin waiting.
There is one thing that’s more unpopular than finishing the main story right now – completing the Shivering Isles DLC. This comes with Oblivion Remastered at no extra cost, but players are taking their time getting to it.
