With only one reveal trailer and bits and pieces fed to us via leaks and speculation, we know very little about the upcoming title. However, while we wait eagerly for more information, GTA 5 Enhanced Edition has finally launched on PC, bringing the platform on par with PS5 and Xbox Series after a very long time.

Launched only yesterday, GTA 5 Enhanced Edition on PC comes with improved load times, graphics, and access to GTA+. This comes as a free upgrade for those who already own GTA 5 on PC. However, it seems players are not happy with the changes that the Enhanced Edition brings, as it launched to “Mixed” reviews on Steam.

It’s a surprise that the Enhanced Edition of a game so widely played and popular has received middling reviews, especially since the edition launched ten years after the base game on PC.It seems fans feel that this is just another way for Rockstar to get a boost in revenue while doing the bare minimum work required on it.
With 4,808 reviews at the time of writing, the positive and negative reviews are split almost evenly. The bulk of the complaints are about how the enhanced edition seems half-baked and feels like an attempt to push GTA + more than anything. Players are also complaining about the inability to transfer characters and progress.
“Rockstar truly did the bare minimum improving the game & the absolute maximum integrating GTA+,” said one player review. “They removed lots of content, removed text chat in Online mode, cannot transfer your Online characters / save over if someone dropped you money in-game many years ago (even if you tried to avoid it), no aim assist for controller users, removed graphical settings & limited others, & very clearly heavily implemented GTA+ into the game.”
“I had 2000 hours on the base game and all my friends and I can’t even migrate cuz some hacker dropped money on us 3 years ago which is unavoidable while playing this game on PC,” said another player.
It seems fans are once again disappointed in Rockstar for putting out a game – in this case an edition – as a cashgrab, without putting in the work it required, like the GTA Trilogy debacle.
