As it turns out, the game has been widely successful, specifically in its eight days post-launch. So much so that it now holds the crown of the fastest-selling Xbox game on PlayStation thus far.
People Are Figuratively Zooming Over To Buy Forza Horizon 5 On PS5
As first shared on Bluesky by Rhys Elliot, the head of market analysis at Alinea Analytics, Forza Horizon 5’s PS5 port has crossed 1.4 million in sales within its first eight days of being made available.
Forza Horizon 5 has sold 1.4 million copies on PlayStation so far. It’s selling twice as fast as Sea of Thieves and way faster than Indiana Jones (launch-aligned data below). Great result Can you imagine how many the next Forza Horizon is going to sell when it’s inevitably a simultaneous launch!?

To put that into perspective, Sea of Thieves only managed to hit 657.3K copies sold in that same timeframe, and the recent port of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle only hit 132.9K by its eighth day.
What makes this set of data even more interesting is the fact that Forza Horizon 5 is a digital-only release, meaning the only place to buy it is on the PlayStation Store. Even with limited availability, the game is still managing to outsell its contemporaries.
There’s a good chance that Forza Horizon 5’s crown might be short-lived, as come August, Gears of War will make its PlayStation debut in the form of Gears of War: Reloaded. And if those rumors about a Halo port on PlayStation ever come true, then that crown will probably have an even shorter lifespan. In other words, it’s Microsoft’s world, and we’re just living in it.
