Not only does Ganacci have some ga-nasty aerial attacks, but his unconventional toolkit makes him a bewildering foe to face off against. We’ll give you a primer on all his moves and help you come to grips with this oddity. With this guide’s help, you’ll be styling on your opponents in no time!
Salvatore Ganacci Overview
Salvatore Ganacci is, without question, the oddest character feature on the City of the Wolves roster. His attacks are largely pretty unconventional, and can make Salvatore a difficult foe to anticipate. While he has a number of unique grounded attacks, his best tools see him take to the skies.
His j.LK makes him float a little, and it hits multiple times. This makes this attack ideal for messing with your opponent’s timing and evading projectiles. His j.HP is a spinning attack that will cause him to drop to the ground quite quickly. If you perform Ganacci’s j.HP while half a character’s width away, making sure you activate it the moment your feet leave the ground, it will hit as a cross-up. This is super tricky, and can lead to big damage if you manage to counter your foe.
Additionally, Salvatore Ganacci has some great Anti-Air attacks. For starters, his f.HP works quite well to bat opponents out of the air. And will typically hit twice when you do. His Sky’s Beat (⬇️↘️➡️ LP/HP) special is also an effective anti-air, and will allow you to follow up with additional hits.
Salvator features three separate attacks that have multiple follow-ups. The standout of the bunch his his Amazing Run (⬇️↙️⬅️ LP/HP), which is a command run that can go into a quick overhead or trip attack. His You Can’t Stop Me! (HK while the Amazing Run special is active) is a quick sweep, and is great for catching your opponent’s toes, but be careful not to use it too often, as it is very punishable on block.
Make use of Salvatore’s f.HP and f.HK normal attacks. His f.HP hits twice and leads to big damage, while his f.HK is his best neutral poke.
Overall, Ganacci is at his best when you are keeping your opponents guessing with a wide variety of unconventional moves. He is probably one of the least intuitive characters to pick up, but he has a lot of powerful tools, and can be extremely tricky. Additionally, his aerial toolkit is impressively strong and helps him get into striking range rather effectively.

Salvatore Ganacci Combos
In terms of combos, Salvatore has a few pretty powerful options. For starters, his standing f.HP hits twice, and the second hit can cancel into his BFAF super (⬇️↘️➡️, ⬇️↘️➡️ LK) or his Ultimate Beat: II Salvatore Hidden Gear super (⬇️↘️➡️, ⬇️↘️➡️ REV). Additionally, on counter hit, you can combo his powerful HP and HK aerial attacks into his Cr. HP. This is significant as his Cr. HP can be canceled into nearly all of his special attacks.
Additionally, it is worth keeping in mind that his Sky’s Beat special (⬇️↘️➡️ LP/HP) can combo into either of his supers as long as you use the REV version of the attack and immediately use the Descend follow-up action (LK after Sky Beat). Bear those tips in mind, and you will be well on your way to optimizing your combo routes with Salvatore Ganacci!

It may be basic, but landing this sequence will take over a third of your opponent’s healthbar away.

LK > LK > Cr.HP > ⬇️↘️➡️ LK+HK > ⬇️↙️⬅️ LK+HK >⬇️↘️➡️ LP+HP > LP > ⬇️↘️➡️, ⬇️↘️➡️ REV
You can swap out the ⬇️↘️➡️, ⬇️↘️➡️ REV for ⬇️↘️➡️, ⬇️↘️➡️ HK if your S.P.G is not active.

LK > LK > Cr.HP > ⬇️↘️➡️ LK+HK > ⬇️↙️⬅️ LK+HK > HP > ⬇️↙️⬅️ LP+HP > HK > ➡️LP+HP > ➡️HP
The final two hits of this sequence won’t actually combo, but, instead, will act as a meaty overhead.
Salvatore Ganacci Tips And Tricks
First and foremost, we’re going to use Ganacci’s j.HP and j.HK pretty frequently. Make sure you do them low to the ground. If you are farther away, use the j.HK; If you are closer, use the j.HP (and aim for the cross-up). You are going to look for that counter hit. If you land a counter, you’ll be able to combo into his Cr.HP – a move that leads into all of his specials.
If your opponent is jumping often, look to land his Sky’s Beat (⬇️↘️➡️ LP/HP). If you land it, you can drop to the ground by pressing LK and then land a kick super or your Hidden Gear super (if you are in S.P.G mode).
However, Salvatore’s greatest strength comes from his Oki mix-ups. Especially when in the form of his Magical Step (➡️ LP + HP) into his For You! (➡️HP while in his Magical Step stance) overhead attack. Utilizing this attack on a downed opponent will be the path to victory. Especially if you’ve already got them concerned about low attacks by landing his Amazing Run (⬇️↙️⬅️ LP/HP) You Can’t Stop Me! (HK while in the Amazing Run attack) sweep.
Maintain pressure, control space using his aerial attacks, and overwhelm your opponents with his strong Oki and you may find yourself getting your arm raised more often than not!
