Sloclap has announced the final beta for Rematch, which is set to take place from May 28 to May 30. The beta will also be available on Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5, something that wasn’t true of April’s beta.
“We’re happy to announce that our second open beta for Rematch will run from May 28 to May 30, for a total of 48 hours of online football action!,” reads the announcement on Rematch’s official Discord server. “We know this is a bit later than some of you were hoping, but the team is currently focused on certifying the console builds, to ensure that Rematch will be playable on all platforms during the beta – that’s right, the beta will be available on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.”

Crossplay won’t be available for this beta, as Sloclap is still working on the feature, which they describe as a “top priority.” There will be a tech test for a select few console players on May 9, to help ensure everything is running smoothly on these platforms. The beta is open to everyone, with every applicant receiving a guaranteed key.
I’m an unapologetic lover of Rematch, having fallen for the game after travelling to Paris to play it at Sloclap’s offices. The first beta was a massive success for the studio, peaking at over 130,000 concurrent players on Steam.
A common criticism of the beta was connections and net-code issues. In a game where precise movement and crisp inputs are crucial, any feeling of unresponsiveness and lag is bound to be very frustrating for players. Given that it was only a beta, players are hopeful that Sloclap will address the server issues before release, or even before the upcoming beta.
Rematch is set to release on June 19 for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5 and PC. Those who pre-order the Pro or Elite editions of Rematch will have “advanced access” to the game three days before its full release.
