Veterans and players who’ve already beaten the game may want to play in a way that truly makes them give their best. Some of the best challenge runs can force players who know everything about the game to think and work differently, making them feel like they’re playing Oblivion Remastered for the first time.

Don’t Buy Anything
Stingy Character
There are houses, horses, unique items, and many other things that you can buy in Oblivion Remastered. While you can get some of the buyable things as loot, certain items are only available if you buy them from merchants. Spells are one of these things, since finding a spell tome is extremely rare.
A challenge that doesn’t let you buy anything in the game will make things interesting for you, as you’ll have to find other ways to get items you can’t buy. Not everything can be stolen in the game, so certain items will require more thinking and planning to obtain.
9
Join All The Guilds
The All-Rounder
Oblivion Remastered has a faction for every single character type. Thieves can find their friends who’ll buy stolen goods from them, and mages have their own guild members who’ll sell them spells. You may join the guilds that align with your character, but this challenge requires you to join every single guild in the game.
It doesn’t stop there, as you have to complete all the quests and reach the highest level possible. This will be hard for some characters, as a mage will find trouble sneaking past enemies, and an assassin fighting a dangerous foe head-on will require full effort.
8
Don’t Steal
Shy Thief
Gold in Oblivion Remastered takes time to earn, as you’ll probably have to spend some time killing enemies in dungeons and collecting sellable loot. There is an easier option, as you can steal many items in the game. You can easily take your new item as long as nobody sees you. If you’re caught, you may have to pay gold, go to jail, or fight to the death.

Not being able to steal will be especially challenging if you want to complete the Thieves Guild, as that faction revolves around taking items you don’t own. Finding a way around that would be an impressive feat.
7
Don’t Join Guilds
Lone Wolf
Guilds in Oblivion Remastered are the best ways to make friends, gain unique benefits, and get a free place to rest. Each guild also has multiple quests that come with unique rewards, and you have to join the individual factions to complete them.
This challenge will be specifically hard for thieves and assassins, as their items are only accessible through random loot or their specific guilds. The challenge will also cause the guild members of each individual guild to have a normal disposition towards you, rather than being friendly and helping you out when you need them to.
6
Don’t Use Ranged Attacks
Useless Bow
This is a challenging run for mages and assassins, as those two build types typically rely on ranged attacks. They usually lack experience with other combat skills, so they prefer to stay away from the thick of the fighting. This challenging run would ensure they have to get blood on their hands and can’t stay hidden.

If they’re unable to use ranged attack, then mages may have to pick up a sword, and assassins may have to use a dagger to sneak attack enemies. Regardless, this specific challenge may be hard to complete if you can’t use your expertise.
5
Don’t Use Health Potions Or Restoration Spells
Fight To The Death
This is one of the more challenging runs as the game puts you into many situations where your health will drop. This is circumvented by using health potions or restoration spells to quickly restore your health. However, if you’re not allowed to use them, you’ll have to depend on the game’s health restoration, which takes significantly more time and doesn’t work while in combat.
The restoration gets faster as you level, but it still won’t work while you’re in active combat, so it won’t help during fights. This will cause you to fight smarter, or may even lead to you running away from many fights.
4
Use The Gear You Got In The Tutorial
Weak Protection
One of the more fun elements of Oblivion Remastered is the various amounts of armor and weapons you can use. The gear you can acquire levels along with your character, and if you get better gear, you’ll be offered better protection. The same is the case with weapons of higher grade, as each type gets more powerful according to the various qualities.

Looking to protect yourself, or deal some damage?
If you use the armor and weapons from the tutorial, you’ll find it significantly challenging, as the gear won’t offer proper protection, and your attacks will be weak. This will be especially noticeable when you go against tougher enemies who deal more damage and have higher health.
3
Don’t Level Up Ever
Level One Character
Oblivion Remastered may not get more difficult if you stay at level one, but you will miss out on many leveled items. The gear and loot will also not be as good as if you got them at a higher level. You’ll be forced to wait instead of sleeping because they may trigger an unexpected level. The game will feel different because your skills will continue to go up, but you won’t be able to level your character.
Most enemies will stay on the same level as you, so you won’t find them challenging, but if you do the main quest, you may run into higher-level Daedric foes. This is when you’ll be tested, because your low-level character going against Oblivion’s worst will take a significant effort.
2
Complete The Main Quest Without Saving
Close The Oblivion Gates In One Try
The main quest gets exceedingly difficult as you progress through it, and there may be situations that lead you to load a save, but with this challenge, you aren’t allowed to save or load autosaves. This will make doing the main quest even more difficult, as you’ll need to restart the game if you die, similar to a roguelike.

This will lead you to devise new strategies and play the game smarter. It’s a fun challenge, even if it’s hard, and you may have to restart a few times. If you don’t take unnecessary risks and rely on some of the followers you have available, then things may get easier for you.
1
Complete The Game Without Fighting Anyone
The Pacifist
Oblivion Remastered has you fighting many enemies, and even the main quest revolves around dispatching Daedric opponents. This challenge will force you to use nonlethal means to reach your goals. It will be significantly hard to do this as you’ll have many enemies fighting you throughout the game, and you won’t be able to fight back.
This can be bypassed by getting followers and letting them do your dirty work, or conjuring creatures that will do your bidding. There are ways to finish the game without ever hitting anyone, but you’ll need to find unique ways to go about it.
