Electro has had quite a rollercoaster of a journey ever since the launch of Genshin Impact. At first, it wasn’t the best element since most of its reactions weren’t as meaningful. However, that drastically changed with the release of Dendro and the introduction of Quicken, Aggravate, and Spread.

The Best DPS Characters In Genshin Impact, Ranked
Genshin Impact has an ever-growing cast of characters, but not all of them can dish out serious damage. Here are the best DPS options, ranked.
With Electro containing a group of some of the coolest characters in the game, it’s normal to look at their ranking. It’s arguably one of the most pleasing elements of the game, but you have to build the right characters if you want to witness the electric greatness.
Updated on April 04, 2025, by Sanyam Jain: With the Version 5.5 update, one of the most fun Electro characters was released to the game in the form of Varesa. She also brings the element back into the meta by constantly jumping down on enemies and dealing massive damage.
We’ve also updated the article to make it easier for you to find out the best builds for each Electro character that you’d like to build!

Electro Traveler
If there is one character you’re familiar with, it is the Traveler of Genshin Impact, and you know that they can be customized to use any element, including Electro. As an Electro character, the Traveler can deal Electro damage to enemies and has access to various not-so-powerful Electro abilities.
Their Skill and Burst can both regenerate Energy in some way, however, the amount generated is not nearly enough to negate the low damage. The Burst is decent at Electro application, but you’ll find various characters that are much better at it.
16
Dori
Dori
is a versatile character in Genshin Impact who wields a claymore and possesses an Electro Vision. Although she has a reputation for charging high prices for her services as a resourceful merchant, Dori doesn’t let the negative chatter bother her.
In combat, Dori plays the role of a sub-DPS, healer, and battery for Electro characters, thanks to her Spirit-Warding Lamp: Troubleshooter Cannon Elemental Skill and Alcazarzaray’s Exactitude Elemental Burst. Unfortunately, none of these play styles are outstanding, especially when you put her in harder content like the Spiral Abyss.
15
Lisa
The first Electro character you acquired in Genshin Impact, Lisa is a librarian in Mondstadt and has been one of the fan-favorite characters ever since the start. She can apply a special effect on the enemies with her Elemental Skill’s press stance and the Charged Attack, which lets her deal more damage to these enemies.

Genshin Impact’s lore often paints certain characters as immensely powerful while their playstyle leaves them feeling woefully weak.
Her Elemental Burst also applies a ton of Electro and reduces the DEF of all nearby enemies. The only problem with this character is that her Skill promotes her to be an on-field DPS while the Burst incentivizes her to be an off-field support. Regardless, if you invest enough in Lisa
, she’s quite a delight to play.
14
Razor
Being the favorite wolf boy of Genshin Impact, Razor
has been featured in the story and Mondstadt events a ton of times. He’s one of the most innocent characters you’ll find in the game. He is a DPS character who deals massive amounts of Electro damage to enemies.
Both his Elemental Skill and Burst can deal a ton of Electro damage to the surrounding enemies, making him one of the best choices for your main DPS during the early game. However, he quickly climbs down the list as you get more characters because of his overall clunkiness and the lack of good Claymores.
13
Kujou Sara
Introduced at the start of Inazuma, Kujou Sara
is an important character in the main story, which makes it almost surprising that she’s a four-star. Her abilities allow her to dish out consistent damage and make her an excellent support character in any team.
Her Elemental burst, Subjugation: Koukou Sendou, is mighty, as it deals massive Electro damage to enemies and increases your Attack. However, she can only be a support for other Electro characters and requires a few constellations to be viable, which earns her a low spot on the overall list.
12
Beidou
Beidou is the captain of the Crux Fleet, a group of sailors and pirates based in Liyue. Her Elemental Skill, Tidecaller, allows her to counter enemy attacks with an Electro-infused parry, while her Elemental Burst, Stormbreaker, summons a lightning strike that deals massive damage.

Genshin Impact: What Are Adepti?
The title of Adeptus in Genshin Impact are names given to certain beings and beasts. They work to protect Liyue from demons through various contracts.
The parry mechanic is arguably what makes this character quite fun, but the shield from her Burst can also be used to protect your characters a bit. However, it has very low hit points, so don’t expect her to be the main sustainer on your team.
11
Kuki Shinobu
Kuki Shinobu
is a four-star sword user and the Deputy Leader of the Arataki Gang. Her Electro abilities allow her to deal with wide AoE ranges, making her a versatile character in any team. Her kit is quite unique since she’s mainly a healer but also a character that thrives when she’s below 50 percent HP herself.
Kuki’s Elemental Skill can constantly heal your active character and also has a 100 percent uptime with the second constellation. Moreover, if you’re planning to use Electro reactions, there are high chances of you getting damaged by some of them, which makes it great to have a healer from the element.
10
Sethos
Sethos
was an Electro four-star unit released alongside Clorinde, but thankfully, he wasn’t given the four-star treatment of being an inevitable support for his five-star counterpart. Sethos is a sub-DPS that deals damage from two main methods, both considered as Charged Attacks.
You can either simply charge his attacks faster by consuming your Energy or trigger your Elemental Burst, which makes all his attacks be considered as Charged Attacks as he uses piercing shots to hit multiple enemies. If you can position yourself properly, Sethos can be quite a phenomenal sub-DPS on the team.
9
Ororon
Genshin Impact has been releasing various characters to buff specific elemental reactions, and Electro has been getting this treatment quite a lot. Ororon is one such character, but instead of buffing the reaction itself, he can deal a decent bit of sub-DPS when you constantly trigger Electro-Charged on the enemies.
Unfortunately, even after getting some constellations that buff his damage, he doesn’t compete well with other sub-DPS units in the game. Moreover, the lack of RES shred that you can commonly see in other characters that buff certain reactions make him not the best unit.
8
Keqing
Keqing
is the Yuheng of the Liyue Qixing, one of the fiercest of the seven leaders who govern the city, and it’s also thanks to her that you can counter the chaos in Liyue. However, she’s not quite as arrogant as you might think once you get close to her. Both Keqing’s Skill and Burst can deal massive Electro damage to opponents.
She was one of the most sought-after characters at the start of the game, but her position slowly dwindled with the Electro element. However, she came right back into the meta with the Aggravate reaction and became one of the best DPS characters to use against formidable foes.
7
Cyno
Cyno
is none other than General Mahamatra and oversees the researchers at Akademiya. He is reputed to be highly efficient in his work, and some say he’s even better than the Kshahrewar’s “Great Vayuvyastra” at his job. But that’s different from what you care for.
Instead, you want to know how much damage Cyno will bring to the party, and worry not, with his Critical Damage bonus ability, you won’t only have a Polearm-wielding war machine but also see the Mahamatra in action. This character is both satisfying to play and viable to use in any type of combat.
6
Fischl
The Electro archer Fischl
, also known as the “Prinzessin der Verurteilung,” is a four-star character who excels at dealing damage with her Elemental Skill “Nightrider” and Elemental Burst “Midnight Phantasmagoria.” Fischl’s crow familiar Oz can also deal Electro damage and even stay on the field to assist in combat.

As a character, Fischl has a quirky personality and unique backstory, but it’s the incredible damage and Electro application that gets her the title of one of the best Electro Characters. If you equip her with Aqua Simulacra
or The Stringless
, you’re in for tremendous Electro damage.
5
Iansan
Ever since the first update of Genshin Impact, HoYoverse has been releasing niche four-star units that are excellent at one thing but quite terrible at the rest. This is mainly the reason why the launch four stars like Fischl, Bennett, and Xingqiu has stayed in the meta.
However, this changed with Iansan’s release, as she’s a phenomenal support for any team out there. Once you get all her constellations, you can use her to get a massive ATK boost for your main DPS for up to 15 seconds, and she also gets nearly a 100 percent uptime on her abilities.
4
Yae Miko
Yae Miko
is the Shrine Maiden of the Grand Narukami Shrine in Inazuma. As a character, Yae Miko is known for her calm and collected demeanor, and in addition, her Catalyst attacks are significant in taking down large swarms of enemies. Her Elemental Skill can stay on the field for a long time and deal constant Electro DMG to the opponents.
Moreover, you can quickly use her Burst whenever it’s ready and swap her back out, wasting no time. This makes her one of the perfect sub-DPS characters in the game. With her beautiful design and intimidating abilities, it’s almost a detriment to skip her.
3
Clorinde
Clorinde
was first revealed during a trailer before Fontaine was released, but players had to wait for quite a while before getting her as a playable character. Thankfully, the wait was worth it, as Clorinde has one of the most fun play styles in the entire Teyvat because of her dual-wielding abilities with a pistol.
Pressing her Elemental Skill puts her in a stance where she can perform pistol shots to build up Bond of Life. You can then clear this BoL by pressing the Skill again, dealing AoE DMG and healing her up. The self-sustainable aspect of her kit and the regular damage make her quite strong and enjoyable, especially with Overload or Aggravate reactions.
2
Varesa
Hailing from Natlan, Varesa is one of the most fun characters you’ll play as in Genshin Impact. With her Skill, she can either give herself a free Plunge Attack for combat or, if you hold it, it can also let you zoom across the map, which is phenomenal for exploration, especially in the Natlan region.
She can also use multiple mini Elemental Bursts if you use her right, dealing massive damage and shredding the enemy’s HP. The best part about her is that you can use her with an F2P-friendly team and still get enough damage to beat all endgame content.
1
Raiden Shogun
Raiden Shogun
a.k.a. Ei a.k.a. Baal, however you want to call her, is the Electro Archon of Teyvat. She’s quite a formidable character to deal with in the main story, but she’s even more formidable for your opponents in battle. She can do almost everything for your team, which gives her the crown of the Electro characters without a doubt.
Apart from dealing massive damage with her Elemental Burst, she also boosts the damage of other party members and regenerates their Energy. Overall, you can benefit from having her on almost any team you can think of.
