Now that we’ve had a little time to get to know the new faces of Warframe 1999, collectively known as The Hex, hung out with them, and even romanced them if that’s your fancy, now’s the time to get down to business: Which one is the best?

Which Warframe Are You Based On Your Zodiac Sign?
Find out which Warframe you embody based on your zodiac sign!
Are you the type of Drifter who prefers philosophical debates about religion and the afterlife? You are probably a Lettie lover. Or, do you prefer the curt stoicism of the not-so-subtle knightly references of Arthur? So, grab your favorite pizza and get ready to agree (or disagree, we don’t judge) with or rank on which member of The Hex is best.
As of writing this list, the four recently announced Protoframes have not yet been released, and as much as it pains us, they won’t be considered for this line-up.

Quincy Issacs
Warframe Trait: Cyte-09
Quincy doesn’t believe in owing anyone in any capacity. Not in money or items, and especially in owing his life. Sadly, according to this slightly cynical way of thinking, he owes Arthur his life. He’s flirty but uncommitted, friendly but aloof, and unafraid to get a little morally gray to get the latest gear for other members of The Hex.
Cyte-09’s kit is perfect for the tight streets of Höllvania’s proclivities for urban warfare and Quincy’s Sniper Rifle. It’s a far cry from the more speed-focused, chaotic runs of the older maps from other parts of the game. Not only can Quincy hold down the team from afar, but with the Neutralize ability, he can hit several enemies’ weak points in a row without wasting bullets.

Amir Beckett
Warframe Trait: Volt
Probably the most relatable member of The Hex, Amir is a passionate gamer. Not just in the ‘games have to have everything I like or else it’s bad’ way, but from the inside. Amir programs fun games and will ask you for your opinions about how to do things in his current projects. Whether or not he adheres to your advice is another matter altogether, but overall, you can’t help but adore this likable ball of nervous energy.

When he isn’t hunkered down over his games, he is darting around the battlefield, manipulating electricity at terrifying speeds. Amir taps into Volt’s kit naturally, so be prepared to fling electricity everywhere offensively with discharge and shock, but can also protect the team from projectiles with his electric shield. His play style is frenetic and risky, but fun.

Lettie Garcia
Warframe Trait: Trinity
How far could The Hex’s mission in Höllvania get to the point it did, at least before the Drifter showed up, without Lettie providing essential support? The simple answer: not very far. Life and death hold a lot of meaning for Lettie, and any loss of life that comes from violence and pain is seen as a great loss, and she fights greatly to preserve all life; any infringement on that will just get you killed that much faster by her in the name of Sol.
As a healer, she uses a lot of resources to keep the party alive with Blessing, which gives any ally in range health and shields. This isn’t free, and you will have to replenish any health you use to heal, but with everyone attacking you, that’s not going to be an issue.

Eleanor Nightingale
Warframe Trait: Nyx
There’s something viscerally terrifying about being killed not by traditional weapons, but losing all of your senses from something outside your control feels alien. Sure, for gameplay purposes, we can see Eleanor’s Chaos pulse explode and take control of enemies, but when you aren’t the ones who see it coming? Existential horror for the ages.

She is the bridge between The Hex and the Techrot; a curse in the long term, but on the battlefield, she’s an absolute asset by using that connection to figure out where any of their targets are at any time — at the cost of her slowly declining humanity.
3
Aoi Morohoshi
Warframe Trait: Mag
Aoi and Arthur have a lot more in common than they would admit. While Arthur is stoic and aloof, Aoi greets everyone with a warm smile and cheerful disposition. Both of them use these veneers to hide wounds from a darker past that they have no intention of sharing with you. At least for the time being.
Just like her disposition, Aoi is magnetic and can control the field by pulling enemies close with a vortex, aptly named pull, only to crush them under the weight of their bones. It’s a painful way to go, but that’s what happens when you come across Aoi and point a gun at her. It’s no wonder she’s second in command.
2
Arthur Nightingale
Warframe Trait: Excalibur
Don’t be put off by that nigh-impenetrable wall Arthur seems to have put up; he’s seen a lot of war and lost important people to him. Getting close to others is the last thing he wants to do. Yet, even a knight can’t fight a war alone. Yes, Arthur’s arc, really The Hex’s arc in general, is how to change the future with the power of friendship.
How do you find the power of friendship? With your mighty sword, of course! Being that Arthur’s kit is simply Excalibur’s skill set, Slash Dash slices through enemies, and Radial Blind flashbangs the area, rendering enemies temporarily blinded and vulnerable to your attacks. It’s efficient and to the point, very indicative of his status as the leader of The Hex.
1
Flare Varleon
Warframe Trait: Temple
A rocker hell-bent on getting revenge for his bandmates getting murdered in cold blood while finding companionship with their newly sentient guitar that may or may not be trying to integrate what’s left of their free will into a hive mind? Sign us up! They bring a lot of rage and revenge to the battlefield and their newfound, terrifying powers.
Their Warframe, Temple, is the first to be introduced within the 1999 expansion, and it made an explosive entrance! Temple casts metronome, and so long as you have rhythm and use their abilities on the beat, you’ll gain extra boosts, such as extra pillars during pyrotechnics, during the beat.
